Dear Members and Valued Customers,
It is with a reinvigorated sense of purpose that we contact you today! Your Friends and Farmers Co-Operative board is now operating at full capacity, replete with enthusiastic new board members. A full board affords our organization a fresh opportunity to assess where we are, where we want to go, and the steps we need to take to get there.
As anyone who has lived through this past growing season can attest, it has been an incredibly challenging season for Central Pennsylvania farmers. As we look strategically at how to best serve you, our farmers, and the Co-Op, we’ve concluded that suspending the online market for the next several months will allow us time to evaluate how to more effectively fulfill our mission as a true Co-Operative.
On December 18th the Online Market (OLM) will enjoy a hiatus as the board navigates plans for the Co-Op for 2019 and beyond. By June of 2019 we endeavor to create and implement a vibrant and effective strategy to move the Co-Op forward and we will keep you apprised of our progress along the way. The proposed culmination of this planning phase for the Co-Op coincides with the stride of the growing season, when all things are fresh and new again.
Please plan to continue ordering from the OLM through December 18th and watch for regular updates from the Board over the coming months on the direction of the Co-Op and the OLM.
A huge thank you to the members, vendors, volunteers and past board members of the cooperative who have supported Friends & Farmers efforts over the past several years. The Board looks forward to continuing to serve you.
If you feel called to help direct the future of our cooperative, join a committee now!
